The gallery housed in its own building, which conforms to the Kerala style architecture. A studio that faces the tropical forests of the Kowdiar Palace, where the erstwhile royal family of Travancore still resides, is the main attraction at the gallery.
The gallery displays a lot of work in oil, acrylic, brass, glass and other metals. Apart from these famous murals, Thanjavur paintings, sculptures and antique furniture are exhibited.
