Da-Parbatia Temple




Da-Parbatia temple is located a few kilometers from Tezpur in Sonitpur District of Assam.

Da-Parbatia temple is known for its art and carvings. The ruins of the door frame of the temple is the oldest specimen of sculptural art in Assam. The carvings of the figurines of goddesses Ganga and Yamuna on the jambs of the door frame reveal the style of early Gupta School of sculpture. The carvings of the goddesses are decorated with ornamental foliage.

Agnigarh and Bamuni Hills, Hazara Pukhuri and Bhalukpung are some of the spots worth visiting while in Tezpur.

Tezpur Airport operates bi weekly flights to kolkata. Guwahati is well connected by air with all major places in the country. Tezpur is connected by metre gauge line to Rangia Junction via Rangapara Junction. Regular State buses ply from Tezpur to Guwahati, Sibisagar, Siliguri, Shillong and Dibrugarh.
