Curdi is on the
Sanguem-
Jaqui road, in the western region of Sanguem
taluk in
South Goa District. It is around 2 km east of Camona and 6 km from
Colomba.
The pre-historical figure of Mother Goddess on an outcrop of laterite gives immense archeological significance to the village. Besides this, there are remains of an 8th century temple just few kilometers from Curdi. The temple is supposed to have been built during the period of Silahara kings.
The Sanguem River flows close by. Netravali Lake, Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary and Rivona Caves are the nearest tourist destinations.
The place can be reached via Goa Airport and Balli Railway Station.
