Crafts Council, the nerve-center of
West Bengal, is situated in
Kolkata. Founded in 1966, the center is a non profit registered organization under the crafts council of India. It is a major center for training craftspersons, developing prototypes and introducing advanced methods of production. The aim of the center is to create a sustainable source of raw material and revive, preserve and support declining indigenous knowledge, resources and skills.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, 18 km from the city, is the nearest airport. Howrah Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
