Church of Our Lady of Mercy is situated at Fajir, 22 km south-east of
Mangalore, in
Karnataka. The Church was built during the Padroado controversy, in about 1838. It was elevated to the status of an independent parish under the Patriarch of Goa. This Church was formerly part of the Ullal (Panir) parish. Fajir came under Mangalore diocese in the year 1886. The Church has a presbytery and bell tower. There are nineteen parish wards under this Church.
Mangalore Central Railway Station and the Mangalore Junction Railway Station are the nearest railway stations. Church of Our Lady of Mercy is also reachable by bus from Mangalore.
