Chrewal Festival




Chrewal, also known as Prithvi puja, is a popular festival of Himachal Pradesh. It is celebrated in the middle of August, and lasts for one month. During this time, the farmers’ do not yoke their ox. In Chamba, it is regarded as the festival of flowers. It is a cheerful occasion for girls who dance on this day.

The festival is the time when devotees come for pilgrimage to the sacred Manimahesh Lake.
