Chozhapuram

Chozhapuram, also spelt as Cholapuram, is a small town in Virudhunagar District of Tamil Nadu. It lies on the Rajapalayam-Sankarankovil Road, close to the northern side of Tirunelveli District. The place has a Shiva temple, where 12th century artifacts have been excavated recently.

Shenbagathope Grizelled Squirrel Sanctuary, Srivilliputtur Temple and Badrakaliamman Temple (the tallest tower of all Goddess Kali temples in the state) are nearby. Sivagiri, Settur and Sevalpatti are prominent towns near Chozhapuram. Srivilliputtur is 18 km north.

Madurai Airport, 76 km north-east, is the nearest airport. Rajapalayam Railway Station is 9 km towards north. Chozhapuram can be accessed from Tirunelveli (82 km south-east) and Madurai (86 km north-east).
