Chopda Pujan




Chopda Pujan is a ritual followed during Diwali. On this day, businessmen perform a puja of account books and start writing new accounts.

Chopda Pujan is also called Sharda pujan or Muharat pujan which means puja of account books. Pardon for the past mistakes is asked of god. Special puja of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi to earn their blessings is conducted. Traditional vedic rituals is performed on this day. Inside the account ledgers ‘Subh Labh’is written to invoke the two gods. Chopda pujan is relevant for anyone who uses and earns money, not just businessmen.
