Surrounded by huge peaks, Chong Kumdan Glacier is located on the lower slopes of the
Karakoram Range in
Ladakh,
Jammu and Kashmir. The melt-water from this glacier flows into the Shyok River, and this river joins the
Indus River.
Chong Kumdan had blocked the flow of the Shyok River several times in the past and it was helped from the Gapshan River.
This glacier can be reached from Skardu in Ladakh.
