Established in 1900 in
Munnar, Chokanad Tea Estate is a 1186 acres property owned by The Tata Tea Company. It lies 4800 ft above sea level, in the plains of the Chokanadasamy hills. The estate is named after its particular location and it is the source of the new variety of tea, clone TTL-2.
The famous Ladbroke House and the
High Range Club are located near the estate.
