Chittur Gurumadom

Thunchan Madom

Chittur Gurumadom is situated at Tekkegrama near Anikkode on the Palakkad-Chittur Road. Overlooking the Sokanasini River, the center is a sought after destination for tourists.

Also known as Thunchan Madom, it is a memorial to Thunchath Ezhuthachan, the author of Adhyatma Ramayana. He spent his last days at this place.

The Gurumadom displays a 'srichakra', some of the idols worshipped by Ezhuthachan, a stylus, wooden slippers and a few old manuscripts.

Chittur is about 15 km south-east of Palakkad.
