Chitraguptar Temple

Chitraguptar Temple is located at Nellukara Street, in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Chitraguptar along with his consort Karnikaambaal. The deity is installed in a sitting posture holding a nail (used for writing on palm leaves) in his right hand and a palm leaf on his left hand.

Chitraguptar Temple has separate shrines dedicated to God Selva Vinayaka, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Durga and Navagrahas. It is believed that the defects caused by the impact of Lord Ketu on a person can be removed by visiting the temple.

The marriage procession of the Lord and his consort, celebrated here in the Tamil month of Chithirai (mid April - mid May), is a major draw attended by thousands of devotees from far and near.
