Chimmanakali




Chimmanakali is an art form performed by the Pulayas, a backward community in Kerala. The word ‘Chimmanam’ refers ‘humor or chat.’ Chimmanakali is a satirical form of art played to point out evils of the society. It is connected with Garbhabali known as Kannal kalampattu.

Chothiyum Pidiym Pattu is the song sung for this play. Speeches braced with humor are its attractions. The incidents are dramatized and presented.
