Nicknamed 'Bat Mosque'

Situated about 12 km south of Gaur, in Malda District of West Bengal, Chika Mosque is an ancient structure believed to have been built between 15th and 16th century. As there used to be present a large number of bats, this mosque has been popularly called Bat Mosque.

In architecture style, Chika Mosque resembles the famous Eklakhi Mausoleum in Pandua. The pillars and the remnants of some statues at the entrance of the mosque give the impression that a Hindu temple existed here long ago. In archaeological point of view, Chika Mosque has great importance.
