Chhappan Mahal Museum




Chhappan Mahal Museum at Mandu is housed in a heritage building built in the 16th century. The building was converted into a museum in 1990. Earlier, Chhappan Mahal belonged to the Puar dynasty of Dhar.

The monument was restored to its original form before setting up the museum. Drishyika, Mandapika, Aranyika and Poorvika are the four galleries in the museum. Historical and cultural heritage of the region from the Stone Age to the present day are on display at the museum. Millennium old Bagh cave frescos, Stone Age relics, articles of the rulers of the region are the highlights. The museum also displays the tribal culture of the region.
