Cheeranchira




Cheeranchira is a remote village in Changanacherry, Kottayam District of Kerala. It has a peaceful landscape known for rubber and cashew plantation, coir and tea. The village is famous as the birth place of Anju Bobby George, the first Indian athlete to win a medal in a World Athletics Championship. The St Athaius Jacobite Church here is a major attraction. Cheeranchira can be accessed by local taxies and bus services from Changanacherry and Kottayam. Changanacherry Railway Station serves this area. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport.
