Chauk

Chauk lies on National Highway 4, on the Panvel-Lonavala route, in Raigad District. Pen is 20 km south-west and Karjat is 13 km east of Chauk. Mumbai, the state capital, lies 52 km north-west.

Matheran, Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary, the hills stations of Lonavala, Khandala and Kamshet, Rajmachi Fort and Nethersole Dam are popular tourist locales accessible from Chauk.
