Charadupinnikali, also known as Urikkali, is an art form prevalent in the districts of
Thiruvananthapuram,
Kottayam,
Alappuzha and
Idukki. It is played as a part of
Thiruvathira, the women's festival of
Kerala. While performing this dance, the participants hold the cords hung at the place of performance. At the final stage of the play, these cords become a rough form of "URI" and later the URI is undone.
