Situated on the banks of
Tlawng River, Changsil is a historic town in
Aizawl District. It holds a prominent place in the history of
Mizoram. It is at this place where the Mizo patriot Khuangchera fought his last against British colonization and sacrificed his life for the motherland in 1890. The memorial stone of Khuangchera can be seen here.
Changsil is around 27 km from Aizawl. National Highway 54 connecting Silchar and Aizawl passes through this town.
