Chandrasekharar Swami Tirukkovil is a highly revered shrine situated at , about 30 km from
Pondicherry. It is an ancient temple dedicated to
Lord Shiva and Goddess
Kali.
Lord Shiva rests here with three faces featuring Moon God, Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. This is an enormous temple, noted for a holy tank. Apart from the main deity, the temple houses all the Shaivite deities. Although the temple is in ruins, it attracts thousands of devotees.
