Situated in
Palakkad District of
Kerala, Chandrasekhara Puram is a village on the banks of the Soka Nasini River. It was a home to the Pathayikkara
Namboothiris, and later they donated the land to Iyers.
There are temples devoted to Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesh and Lord Shiva. Another major temple is the shrine of Sastha along with his divine consort, Poorna Pushkalamba. Vinayaka Chathurthi, Makara Sastha Preethi and Ashtami Rohini are the festivals celebrated here.
The village also holds the credit of being the home for many musicians and Vedic scholars such as Viswanatha Bhagavathar, Chellappa Deekshithar and Krishna Vadyar.
