Chanditala is a taluk headquarters town in Hooghly District. It is situated about 12 km north of Howrah and 17 km east of Kolkata.

Parbatipur (5 km to the west), Janai (5 km to the north), Monber (2 km to the east), and Krishnapur (2 km to the south) are the nearby places.
