Chandgad is the headquarters of a
taluk. It is situated about 11 km east of Pilani, in
Kolhapur District. Chandgad lies at the southern tip of the Kolhapur District that is sandwiched between
Sindhudurg District and
Belgaum District of
Karnataka.
Amboli is situated 20 km west of Chandgad.
Hiranya Keshi, Nagarta Falls and Narayangad at Amboli, Paargad and Bhudargad are tourist sites in the area. Sawantwadi, Vengurla and the exotic beaches of the west coast of Sindhudurg District are within 100 km from Chandgad.
