Chalode is a charming village situated on State Highway 30, about 5 km west of Mattanur, in Kannur District. Kannur is around 20 km west of Chalode.

Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary, Parassinikadavu Snake Park and Pazhassi Dam are tourist spots around.

Nearest airport is at Kozhikode. Kannur Railway Station serves Chalode.
