Chakar Nagar is an ancient town which lies about 26 km south-east of
Etawah between the
Yamuna and the
Chambal rivers.
The site of the old town, which is 3 km west of the modern town, is a place of great antiquity with a few spots worthy of note. An enormous khera (mound) with traces of old buildings, and a magnificent well are the highlights.
Chakar Nagar is well linked to Sahson, Lakhna and Bakewar. Bharthana Railway Station and C A Kanpur Airport are the nearest railway station and airport.
