Chail Military School is located at
Chail in
Himachal Pradesh. It was established in February, 1922 by the then Prince of Wales. The school was formerly located at Jalandhar Cantonment and was shifted to Chail in 1960. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and is managed by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It aims to provide quality education. Classes are provided up to the +2 (XII) level. Defence-oriented learning is also provided for getting admission to the National Defence Academy (NDA.) Merit scholarships are given to improve the intellectual skills of the students.
Boarding facility is arranged. The campus also houses a ten-bedded hospital. Extra-curricular activities including drawing, painting, woodwork, making and repairing electrical and electronic devices, aero-modeling, elocution, debates, quiz, and creative writing competitions are conducted regularly. Various sports activities are also conducted.
