Centre for the Study of Culture and Society was formed in
Bangalore in 1996 by a team of scholars interested in developing new approaches in the studies of the culture of India. It conducts Ph D and diploma programs in cultural studies. The center also has a online masters program in cultural studies.
Centre for the Study of Culture and Society organizes lectures to help the fellows of the center and the general public to interact with scholars working in areas of cultural studies. It also hosts numerous conferences and workshops.
