Centre for Studies in Social Sciences of
Kolkata was established in the year 1973. Courses in the fields of economics, history, political science, sociology, social anthropology, geography and cultural studies are offered by the college. Research facilities are also provided for the students.
The campus has a well-stocked library with about 30,000 books, monographs and government reports, 175 journals and 12 daily newspapers, and around 3,500 working papers from various institutions in India and abroad. Various seminars and workshops are organized to improve the knowledge of the student.
