Center for Promotion of Astronomical Science (CPAS) is a center for star gazing located at the picturesque Manora Peak. This is a joint project of the Tourism Development Corporation of
Kumaon and the
Uttaranchal State Observatory of
Nainital.
The main objective of CPAS is to educate tourists through exhibitions and lectures. With a view to create interest towards the COSMOS, the center has designed various star-gazing capsules and slide-shows. Star watching facilities are available from 18 30 to 20 15 hrs.
Pant Nagar Airport is 70 km from here and the nearest railhead is
Kathgodam Railway Station.
