Care India, an international relief and development organization, commenced its operations in 1950 at Hauz Khas Village in
New Delhi. The primary aim is to wipe out poverty and to promote self help. In pursuit of this aim, it has implemented projects in the fields of health, nutrition, population, girls' education, small economic activity development, urban development, tribal empowerment and relief and rehabilitation. Presently, Care India has improved the lives of more than 27 million people in 69 countries.
It has other locations at Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.
