Rajasthan, has a unique craft of camel-hide gesso work. The inner portion of a camel hide is scraped properly to make it paper-thin and translucent. This processed material is molded into a required form. Various paintings are done it using bright shades of red and green. This painting is enhanced with intricate gesso work done with gold. This craft is used in the making of decorative utilities like lampshades, flask covers and perfume vases.
