Calcutta Kennel Club, one of the largest and oldest kennel clubs in the eastern part of India, was established in 1906.
Functioning from
Kolkata, it strives to help the canine lovers of
West Bengal. It is affiliated with the
Kennel Club of India (KCI), with its headquarters at
Chennai.
The main objective of the club is to promote the pure blood line dogs and encourage breeding and rearing of puppies. It also helps in processing applications regarding dog registrations, litter registrations, dog transfers and other certificates of canine interests.
The club conducts dog shows, which attract a number of participants.
