Butari is a small town in
Amritsar District of
Punjab. It is located about 35 km east of
Amritsar.
The Gurdwara Baba Bakala, Beas Ashram, Shalimar Garden and Moorish Mosque in Kapurthala, Taran-Taran and the historic sites around Amritsar constitute interesting excursions outside the town.
Nearest airport is at Amritsar. Butari Railway Station is situated on the Amritsar-Jalandhar line of the Northern Railways.
