Bund Baretha Sanctuary




Bund Baretha is a reservoir, located about 60 km from Bharatpur, Rajasthan. This is the site of a Maharaja's Mahal (Palace) with wonderful views over a vast lake.

Bird species include Indian skimmer, Eurasian spoonbill, river tern, rufus-tailed lark, booted eagle, Eurasian griffon, Eurasian thick-knee, pintail snipe, whiskered, gull billed and river terns, chestnut-bellied sand grouse, singing bush lark, ashy-crowned sparrow lark, oriental skylark, Asian palm swift, citrine, white-browed wagtails and redheaded bunting.

Bharatpur Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
