Buddhist Stupa is situated at
Pandrethan in
Srinagar District of
Jammu and Kashmir. The stupa lies on the mountain slope about half a mile to the east of the
Pandrethan Temple. This stupa is known as Stupa A in the records of the Archeological Department of the state.
The ancient stupa is enclosed in a square area which originally measured 72’ with offsets on each side. It was bounded by stone walls from all the four sides. Now these walls are in ruins and the lowest course alone exists. There is another small stupa to the west of this stupa. The courtyard of a monastery is nearby.
By road, the stupa can be approached by travelling about 3 miles from Srinagar, on the Anantnag cart-road.
