Buddha Jayanti Park is an impressive wooded park in
New Delhi. Dedicated to
Lord Buddha, it was founded on the eve of 2,500 years of completion of Lord Buddha's great salvation. The park is enriched with flowers, winding pathways and hedges.
The highlight is a gilded copper statue of Lord Buddha, which is seated on a lotus pedestal, surrounded by water and swans. Another attraction is a sapling of the original Bodhi tree, brought from Sri Lanka.
