The
Hyderabad branch of the British Library was established in 1979. Located right opposite the Secretariat in Hyderabad city, it keeps with the British Council tradition of catering to academics, professionals and the curious. This branch has almost 30,000 books covering arts, science, communication and technology for reference and recreation.
The library constantly updates its collection directly from UK. The fully automated network facilitates easy access to information. Inter-library loan is an added feature. A unique facility called The Business Information Center (BIC) provides commercial and business information to business entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh. Regular lectures, talks and poetry-reading sessions are also organized here.
