British Council Library, established in 1950, is located on
Anna Salai in
Chennai. This well stoked library boasts around 27000 books, which covers a wide spectrum of the written word. It showcases articles on the latest information from the UK.
The library offers access to information online and has books on economics, engineering, information technology, law, management and medicine. In addition, educational videos (around 900), audio cassettes, CDs (around 400), children's books (around 2500) and periodicals are available.
Membership schemes are available for individuals, young learners, families and NGOs. The library is open from 11:00 to 19:00 hrs from Monday to Saturday.
