Brahmapura Island is one of the islands in the expanse of
Chilika Lake in
Orissa, bounded by the
Bay of Bengal on one side. This island, inhabited by numerous varieties of avian fauna, is a birdwatchers' haven. Thousands of tourists visit this island every year.
Bhubaneswar is the nearest airport. Buses ply regularly up to the Chilika shore. Country boats and motor launches can be hired for cruising up to Brahmapura Island.
