Bitragunta is located in Nellore District and lies on National Highway 5. It is around 50 km north of Nellore.

Bitragunta was of great importance during the days of British. It is known as a railway town, with a lot of rail activities.

Bitragunta Railway Station is on the Nellore – Guntur rail line.
