Bishen Singh Bedi, born on 25th September 1946 in
Punjab has earned a name as an excellent cricketer. His test debut was in 1966, and ODI debut in 1974. Bishen Singh Bedi was a very successful slow left arm bowler and has taken 1560 first class wickets. He was the leading Indian wicket taker until Kapil Dev overtook the record. Besides India, Bedi has played for Northamptonshire. He has also captained the Indian team in 22 tests. He retired from International cricket in 1979.
