Bisari Devi Temple




Bisari Devi Temple is located at Sankisa in Basantpur village in Uttar Pradesh.

Bisari Devi Temple stands on a stupa. Adjacent to the Bisari Devi temple is the excavated Ashoka Elephant Pillar. Sankisa is considered a pilgrim spot as this is the place where the Buddha, after giving sermons to his mother in heaven descended along with Brahma and Devraj Indra. At the descent spot stands a temple with the statue of Buddha. A colossal shivlinga can also be seen here.

Agra Airport is the nearest from Sankisa. Sankisa is connected by rail from Pakhna Railway Station, 12km from Sankisa. Bus services are available from Sankisa. Sankisa is 47 km away from Farrukhabad which is well connected to major towns of Uttar Pradesh.
