Bihpuria is a small town in the
Lakhimpur District of
Assam. Situated near the district's border with the state of
Arunachal Pradesh, the town has all basic amenities such as hospitals, schools and hotels. The river Dikrong flows through this town.
Bihpuria has a humid sub-tropical climate. There are a host of tribal communities such as Mishing,
Rabha and
Bodo. Their indigenous 'eri-muga-pat' handloom fabric is world famous.
It is well-connected by road with
North Lakhimpur, the district headquarters.
North Lakhimpur Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
