Sindri, Bihar Institute of Technology is a premier center for technical institution. It was established in 1949, and owned by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of Jharkhand. The college is in the middle of many industries such as the FCI, PDIL, ACC and various collieries.
This residential college offers under graduate programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Mining Engineering. MSc(Engg) and PhD programs are also conducted. The library carries 60,000 texts and reference books in science, engineering and technology.
