Bhuvaneshwari Temple




Built in 1951, this Dravidian style temple is located on the northern side of the Palace Fort. The main deity is Goddess Bhuvaneshwari. It also enshrines the images of Surya, Maha Vishnu, Shiva, Rajarajeshwari, Ganapati and Chamundeshwari. The temple also possesses a large Surya Mandala presented by the King Jayachamaraja Wodeyar. Special worship is offered to this copper plate on the auspicious day of ‘Ratha Sapthami’ in the month of January-February.
