Bhor is a taluk headquarters of
Pune District in
Maharashtra. It is located to the south-west of
Pune.
Bhor is a hilly region and is covered with dense forest. Teak, Sag and Oak are found here in abundance. It is a fertile ground for crops such as rice, jawar and ambemohar. Besides, rare species of animals and birds including leopards, peacock and bulbul can be spotted.
Bhatghar Lake forms the prime attraction here. Apti to the south-west, Shirwal to the east and Adoli to the north are among the surrounding places. Baneshwar, with an ancient shrine of Lord Shiva, is easily accessible from Bhor.
