Situated at about 40 km from Karanjia, near the Booring village in Thakurmunda is the sacred pool of Bhimkund, surrounded by a precipitous wall. Legend says that Bhima, the second Pandava used to take his bath in this pool when
the Pandavas were passing their incognito life in Birat Nagar, the present Kaptipada. The Vaitarini flowing through a gorge in steps forming a series of rapids before settling down in the pool is a fascinating sight. The Makara festival held here in the month of January draws a large number of devotees. Set in the lap of nature, the place is also ideal for any nature loving tourist.
