Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT) in
Bhilai is a self supporting and self financing engineering institute. Affiliated to Ravishankar Shukla University, BIT offers under graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs.
Under graduate programs is inclusive of several branches such as Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. MCA, MBA, PGDIS (PT), and ME (Environment) (PT) are some of the post graduate programs. Besides, PhD programs are conducted in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Chemistry.
The campus, spread over 75 acres of land, encompasses four separate and full fledged buildings. Facilities, among many others, include library with national and international journals, central workshop, fluid mechanics lab, canteens, dispensary and hostels for boys and girls. Basketball courts, volleyball courts, outdoor badminton courts and table tennis halls are available for co-curricular activities. A Training and Placement Cell also functions within the institute.
