Bheemeswaralayam is an ancient temple situated on the main road at
Bheemunipatnam. It is believed that Bhim, one of the Pandava brothers, killed a demon and established a
shivlinga here. Later a temple was built in 1170 (Salivahana Saka year), which became famous as Bheemeswara Kshetram or Bheemeswaralayam.
