Bharthahari is a style of folk ballad predominantly performed in parts of
Bihar and
Rajasthan. This folk art is based on a book titled ‘Bharthari Charit.’ It deals with the life of a legendary king named Bharthahari.
The ballad depicts all the major events in the life of the king, right from his birth to the death. The triumphs as well as the tragedies of the king are portrayed in front of the audience.
